35 nations will participate in the IBF Youth World Cup in Helsingborg
35 nations will participate in the IBF Youth World Cup in Helsingborg from 17th to 21st of June 2025.
– We are very happy that so many nations will participate in Helsingborg, says Peter Hodor, general secretary of the Swedish Bowling Federation.
Last Wednesday was the deadline for the national federations to register players for the IBF Youth World Cup. Several entries came in at the final stage and in the end 35 nations from around the world had signed up for the individual Under 21 Championship in Helsingborg.
– The International Bowling Federation is delighted to see athletes from 35 nations scheduled to participate in the IBF Youth World Cup in Helsingborg, Sweden. This event highlights the worldwide appeal of the sport and offers a great platform for the next generation of players to shine on the world stage. Helsingborg is ready to welcome the world for what promises to be an exciting competition, says Michael Seymour, CEO for the International Bowling Federation (IBF).
The main organizer of the IBF Youth World Cup is the Swedish Bowling Federation, which in collaboration with the International Bowling Association (IBF) and Olympia Bowling in Helsingborg organizes the championship. Peter Hodor, general secretary of the Swedish Bowling Federation, is looking forward to this summer's championship.
– It is very positive that so many countries want to come to Helsingborg from all parts of the world. It is a proof that the organization of the Under 21 World Cup 2022 was of a very high standard and everything points to the fact that it will be at least as good this time, says Hodor and continues:
– Arranging international championships means a lot for bowling in the region, but also for bowling in the whole country. The fact that our young bowlers get the opportunity to see their role models and experience top-class international bowling at home means that they are
inspired to get there too.
In 2022 the Under 21 World Cup 2022 was arranged in Helsingborg and in June it is time for an international championship again in Helsingborg. The practical implementation of the Youth World Cup is the responsibility of Olympia Bowling together with the clubs Spader Dam and IS Göta.
– It is fantastic that we once again can host an international championship and I look forward to see all the players in Helsingborg, says Patrick Backe from Olympia Bowling.
The last time the IBF Youth World Cup was held was in January 2024 in Lima, Peru, and 25 nations participated. There will be a good increase in the number of participating nations in Helsingborg.
– 35 nations are clearly above expectations. We are very happy to have such great support from Helsingborg City through Helsingborg's Convention & Event Bureau, says Patrick Backe.
It is with great pleasure that we welcome participants from no less than 35 countries to Helsingborg and the World Youth Cup 2025. We will all do our best to ensure that they have a pleasant stay in our beautiful city, says Henrik Gidlund, head of unit for the Helsingborg Convention and Event Bureau.
Single is the only competition distance on the program in the Youth World Cup. Last week it was clear that Maja Engberg and Robin Ilhammar will represent Sweden in the championship.
