Two worthy Champions

When the unique swedish playoffs finished today, two worthy winners emerged victorious: Team Pergamon, from Gothenburg (mens) and Spader Dam, from Helsingborg (women).
- This is indescribable, says Francois Louw, Pergamons South African.

The Swedish league playoffs was played during this weekend. On the womens side the reigning champions from Helsingborg: Spader Dam won the title for the fourteenth time since the league began in 1975.
- There is nothing to talk about, they were the better team today, says Mattias Billberg, coach of Team X-Calibur who lost the finals, in two straight games, to Spader Dam.

On their way to the finals, Spader Dam, with, among others, World Cup-winner Jenny Wegner, beat BK Högland from Nässjö. Team X-Calibur took out B-K Eva from Stockholm on their way to the final where they had to admit defeat.

On the mens side the “Real Madrid” of Bowling, Team Pergamon, first beat Stureby BK from Stockholm in their semi-finals. After the reigning champions Team Clan, Nässjö beat BK Jösse from Arvika a reprise of last years finals were a fact.

In the final Team Pergamon, with stars like the world number one, Martin Larsen, were the better team over three games. In the last game they really impressed and showed why they have 11 golds over the last 15 years. They were really worthy champions.
- We have thrown better shots over the whole finals, said Mattias Wetterberg who finished off with a 289 game.

The unique Swedish playoffs once again gave us an experience that compares to nothing. With a packed bowling alley filled with singing, shouting, fans create an atmosphere that players compare to a soccer-game with 25 000 spectators.
- This is indescribable. I was shaking the entire three games of the finals, says South African Fran Louw who played his first Swedish playoffs for Team Pergamon and continues:
-  It is the mots beautiful bowling experience that I have been a part of. I got a tip to take 15 seconds to just take it all in before I threw my first shot.

The two-time reigning European Champion in Masters: Martin Larsen has played most of the bowling events around the world. But playing the Swedish playoffs is something special.
- I have played the European Championships, World Championships, Weber Cup, PBA League, nothing compares to this. To get to experience this, it’s more fun to win together, he says.
